Dr. Adam Segal is a Licensed Psychologist and earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University-Los Angeles (California School of Professional Psychology). Previously, Dr. Segal earned his M.A. in Clinical Psychology (Alliant International University), as well as his M.A. in Counseling Psychology (Pacifica Graduate Institute). Prior to his graduate work, Dr. Segal received his B.A. in Psychology at California Lutheran University, where he was a student-athlete.

Dr. Segal has worked in multiple clinical settings including hospitals (Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Children’s Hospital Orange County, Long Beach Memorial Hospital) community mental health clinics (Western Youth Services), school and college counseling services (Moorpark College, Alhambra Unified School District), and private practice. Dr. Segal’s clinical experience has allowed him the privilege of working with diverse populations and backgrounds including children, teens, adults, and families with a wide range of presenting issues. Dr. Segal works with his clientele through individual, family, and group therapy. He is also proficient in Sports Psychology, where he has worked with individuals and teams regarding preparation skills, optimal performance, and incorporating interventions to reach specific goals.

Dr. Segal’s approach to therapy is tailored to each individual client through research-supported modalities. These approaches include Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Psychodynamic, Family Systems, as well as Sports Psychology. Dr. Segal regularly works with clients having difficulty with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, eating disorders, ASD, trauma work, and behavioral problems. Dr. Segal also provides psychological testing and assessments for learning and personality disorders for children, adolescents, and adults, which can be beneficial in providing insight into specific symptoms, appropriate resources, and referrals to continue the healing process.

Dr. Segal places an emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment for his clients through a collaborative method with parents/guardians. He believes in a holistic approach to healing and understands the importance of incorporating clients’ support systems into treatment or in some cases, helping to develop one with them. Dr. Segal frequently works with psychiatrists, teachers, parents, pediatricians, doctors, and others who are able to help reach the clients’ and families’ goals.
