Sierra Sanchez is a passionate Psy.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at California Lutheran University, with a strong commitment to fostering emotional resilience and growth across diverse populations. With a foundation in trauma-focused therapy and experience spanning private practice, community counseling, and behavioral health, Sierra brings a client-centered, compassionate approach to her clinical work.
Currently completing her practicum at Fulton Psychological Group, Sierra provides individual, group, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She also conducts psychological assessments for both youth and adults, integrating her skills in diagnostics with therapeutic interventions. Sierra’s clinical interests include trauma recovery, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and family dynamics.
Prior to her work at FPG, Sierra honed her trauma-focused care at the CLU Community Counseling Center, supporting clients aged 8 to 55. Her approach emphasizes creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to navigate challenges and build lasting emotional well-being.
Sierra's background also includes experience as a Registered Behavioral Therapist, where she implemented behavior intervention plans, supported parent training, and managed crisis situations. Her early work as a Youth Mentor Coordinator at San Diego Juvenile Hall and as a Psychology Student Mentor at Franklin Middle School reflects her long-standing dedication to guiding youth through critical developmental stages, addressing issues like bullying, relationships, and mental health awareness.
With a Master’s in Psychology from Pepperdine University and ongoing doctoral studies at Cal Lutheran, Sierra combines academic excellence with real-world experience. She is committed to lifelong learning and applying evidence-based practices to support her clients’ unique journeys.
